Dove has apologised after releasing a series of “racist” images that appeared to show a black woman turning white after using their soap. The Facebook advertising campaign used a series of three images, showing a black woman peeling off her T-shirt to reveal a white woman underneath her skin. A third image shows the white woman undressing to reveal an Asian woman. “We deeply regret the offense it caused,” the brand tweeted.
An image we recently posted on Facebook missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. We deeply regret the offense it caused.

The Facebook video has now been removed, but Nay the mua, an American makeup artist, saw the photos come up on her feed and shared them with her followers.
