Minimum Wage Increase

In October, the national minimum wage increase will come into effect. The national minimum wage currently £6.50 per hour will rise to £6.70, this will make a difference of £416 extra per year for full time workers earning the national minimum wage. It has been reported that over one million UK workers will benefit from this increase.

Many companies are now signing up to a new initiative, to pay the living wage, employers are finding that by paying a living wage at a more generous rate than the national minimum, their employees have a better lifestyle and it have shown benefits in staff recruitment, retention and loyalty.
