More than half of the British public think Uber should be allowed to operate in the UK, an exclusive Sky Data poll reveals.
The taxi-hailing app lost its licence to operate in London on Friday after Transport for London found it was “not fit and proper” to hold one.

Excluding those who answered ‘don’t know’, 56% support Uber operating in Britain, while 44% oppose it.
In all, 43% say Uber should be allowed to run in the UK, 34% say they should not, and 22% do not know.
Londoners are much more supportive of the company than any other region, with 60% in favour of it continuing to operate and 29% saying it should stop.
Young people are also much more likely to back Uber. Those aged 18-34 support it by 58% to 29%, while people aged 55 and over oppose it by 45% to 30%.

Asked whether Uber is a good or bad thing for Britons, 42% said it is good and 28% said bad, with the remainder neutral or unsure.
Again, there were stark differences by age and region, with 54% of 18-34 year-olds and 58% of Londoners saying it is good for the country, while those aged 55 and over thought it was more bad than good by 37% to 30%.
